Go West With Marc is a Facebook page about eating and going out in west Wales. Marc films himself walking into a place, shows you the menu, shows you every plate as it lands, and tells you at the end whether it was worth it.
The format has a name on the page: an honest food experience. The word doing the work in that phrase is honest.
Most visits run over three days. A post the day before saying where he is heading, so followers can chip in with recommendations. The video itself. Then a photo round up the next morning for anyone who missed it.
Alongside that, giveaways. Local businesses put up a prize, followers enter, and Marc pulls the winning name out on camera in a live video.
This site is a written companion to the page. Every review here is written from the transcript of Marc's own video of that visit, so the opinions, the prices and the verdict are his, in his words, just laid out so you can read it in two minutes instead of watching for twenty.
There are currently 22 write ups here, 17 of them food experiences, covering 11 towns.
Mostly Pembrokeshire, with Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion in reach. Saundersfoot and Tenby come up most often, but the page has been out to Solva, St Davids, Milford Haven, Narberth, Pembroke Dock, Kilgetty, Haverfordwest and a lay by in Clunderwen that turned out to do a very good toasty.
Marc gets a lot of emails and messages and cannot always reply straight away, but he does read them. If you are a business, there is a page about working together.
