Clarence House Hotel, Tenby: The Room With That View

Step onto the balcony, look left, and there is St Catherine's Island. South Beach in the distance, Caldey out on the water.

Clarence House Hotel, Tenby: The Room With That View

Have you stayed here, everyone? This is the Clarence House Hotel on the esplanade in Tenby, and you need to wait until you see these views.

The room

The room itself is incredible before you have even looked outside. But the balcony is where this one is won.

Step out, look left, and there it is: an absolutely blown away view of St Catherine's Island. Come back along the balcony and you can see Caldey Island in the background. South Beach is away in the distance, and you can spin right round and the views keep going.

You can see the Clarence House bar opposite too, which is open to non residents as well as guests. The views from that bar are something in themselves.

The premier rooms

I have been round more than one room here. One of them is set up as a twin, but that can be a super king. Palm trees outside, and views out to Caldey and St Catherine's that genuinely look like you are somewhere overseas rather than on the Pembrokeshire coast.

Wherever you look in that accommodation, the view does the work.

Why it matters

Tenby has no shortage of places to stay, and plenty of them are lovely. What you are paying for at a place like this is the balcony and what you can see from it, first thing with a coffee and last thing at night.

That view of St Catherine's Island is the picture people come to Tenby for. Having it from your own room, rather than walking down to find it, is the whole point.

The verdict

Blown away views. The balcony is where this one is won.

Not a food experience this one, a treat experience. Chocolate strawberries, a milky bar cheesecake and a blueberry crumble, all picked by my followers.
